Director of Admissions  

Location:   New York City, NY  
School Type:   Independent Pre-K–12 School  

A vibrant, mission-driven independent Pre-K through Grade 12 school in New York City is excited to welcome its next Director of Admissions to the leadership team beginning July 1, or sooner if available. About the Role  

The Director of Admissions will lead all aspects of student recruitment, admissions, and enrollment management across the school’s   Pre- K  –12 program. Reporting directly to the Head of School, this person will play a key role in developing and executing a thoughtful enrollment strategy that attracts and   retains   a talented, engaged, and diverse student body.  

This is a highly visible leadership role for someone who enjoys both big-picture strategy and day-to-day relationship building.

What   You’ll   Be Doing  

Lead Enrollment Strategy  

  • Develop and execute a thoughtful, data-informed enrollment strategy aligned with the school’s mission and long-term goals   

  • Partner closely with senior leadership on enrollment forecasting, financial aid strategy, and market positioning   

  • Stay informed on enrollment trends and the evolving independent school landscape  

Oversee the Admissions Process  

  • Guide the full admissions journey from inquiry through enrollment for all divisions ( Pre-K –12)  

  • Ensure a welcoming,   equitable , and mission-aligned experience for every prospective family   

  • Manage admissions timelines, communications, and policies   

Build Community Connections  

  • Serve as a friendly and knowledgeable ambassador for the school   

  • Plan and host admissions events including open houses, tours, and virtual programs   

  • Collaborate with marketing and communications to ensure consistent storytelling and messaging   

Use Data to Drive Results  

  • Utilize CRM and enrollment systems to track and manage prospective families   

  • Analyze enrollment data and trends to support strategic decision-making   

  • Report on key metrics including   engagement,   yield   and   retention  

Partner on Financial Aid  

  • Work closely with the finance office to support a fair and mission-aligned financial aid process   

  • Help advance access and affordability initiatives   

Compensation & Benefits  

Salary:  $140,000 – $175,000 annually, depending on experience .   

Bonus:   Up to 15% yearly bonus
